Peter Chick
Peter J Chick has over 45 years of experience in aviation. He holds an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer M1/M2 license and Ministers Delegate for Maintenance (MD-M) accreditation from Transport Canada. He has held many notable roles in his career so far including Maintenance Manager, DOM/PRM, Quality Assurance Manager, Auditor and Private Pilot for many small operators just to name a few. Peter has successfully developed many Transport Canada approved Maintenance Control Manuals, Maintenance Policy Manuals and Quality Assurance Programs and is deeply knowledgeable with the Canadian Aviation Regulations.
Peter has successfully managed his own Approved Maintenance Organization, and others with up to 20 employees. Having held various management positions, he is vastly knowledgeable in almost all aspects of the aviation industry including general aviation, private & commercial operations, maintenance, component overhaul, cargo, airports and everything from rotary to fixed wing. Peter also stays very active within the community and​ liaises with Transport Canada on an ongoing basis.
He is a current and long-standing member of the AME Association of Canada (AMEC/TEAC) and past President of the Pacific Aircraft Maintenance Engineers Association (PAMEA). Peter also was the recipient of the 2018 Bob Hope Award for Excellence in Aviation exemplifying his outstanding advocation for the aircraft maintenance industry in British Columbia.
Peter holds many qualifications including CCAA Accredited Quality Systems Auditor, Quality Manager, 604 Private Operator Auditor, Trained Internal QA Auditor - International Registrar of Certified Auditors (IRCA) ISO 9000/2001. He is also deeply experienced with effective root cause analysis, tap root, HFACS (human factors and classification system), IOSA conformance audit, corrective action plans, accident/incident training, FAR Part 21, SMS, LEAN/continuous improvement.
