Harvie Buitelaar is the Regional Managing Director, Infrastructure, for Western North America. The region consists of over 750 staff and over 725 active projects across three major business units: Water, Urban Solutions, and Transportation & Logistics. Harvie is Delivery Sponsor and Business Sponsor on numerous Transportation & Logistics projects, which cover the following markets: Airports & Aviation, Ports & Terminals, Highways & Bridges, Rail, and Transit.
As a Civil Engineer and Principal Project Manager, Harvie maintains active involvement in Hatch’s Airports & Aviation business, an area he has specialized in for 20 years. He is also a Director and Secretary of the BC Aviation Council. Harvie’s airport experience involves planning, engineering, and project management services for airports and infrastructure projects across Canada and the United States, acting as Project Manager and Project Sponsor for multidisciplinary teams on small to large-scale expansion and rehabilitation programs. Having worked within a planning, design and production role, he understands the complexities of working within an airport operational environment. After delivering many airside and landside projects, Harvie recently held the role of Global Aviation Director at Hatch.
