Register now for CILTNA's upcoming second webinar, Pathways to Canada/US Border Recovery.
The webinar will occur on Wednesday, June 17th, 9:00 AM PDT/12:00 PM EDT.
Guest Speaker: Gerry Bruno, Vice President, Federal Government Affairs, Vancouver Airport Authority (YVR)
Topic: ” Future Borders Coalition: its Mandate, its Achievements and its Border Recovery Plans”
Summary: Gerry leads what was previously named the Beyond Pre-Clearance Coalition, and now named the Future Borders Coalition group of bi-national organizations with a vested interest in advancing efficiency and security of the Canada-US border.
The coalition has 55 members on both sides of the border, and has 10 working groups which have been focusing on the game changers in technology that will form the building blocks for the evolution of border management. Examples include mobile smartphone apps, drone networks, next-generation biometrics.
Today, as the world tries to cope with the corona virus pandemic, and the Canada/US border remains closed, the Coalition will play a key role in shaping the border policies of both nations. The Coalition has recently established a Border Recovery Working Group to address the short and longer term implications of the pandemic on the world’s longest undefended border.
